Fresh floods and heavy rain has prompted another spell of unsettled and worrying weather. Flood warnings are currently in place (20th December) for the South West, the South East and East Anglia. However, although we have some patches of dry weather forecast, it is likely to remain unsettled for up to seven days. Whilst many may hanker after a white Christmas, others just want to be able to reach loved ones and share the Festive Season – and others worry about the disruption to on-line shopping deliveries and partying!
The forecast for the holiday period is not looking good. People are being urged to keep up to date with the latest information via the EA (The Environment Agency) website, sign up for free flood warnings, check their routes for disruption before travelling and not drive or walk through floodwater.
Local radio and TN stations are invaluable sources of information, and so is the Environment Agency website at www.environment-agency.co.uk/flood - sign up to receive flood warnings on this website – or call them direct on 0845 988 1188.
