Car scrappage and now boiler scrappage

For home owners and landlords this harsh winter could be causing problems especially if your property's boiler is playing up. The Government is currently introducing a boiler scrappage scheme so now could be the ideal time to get the old boiler out and new energy efficient one in.

Taking advantage of the scheme could cut your energy bill by up to a quarter per year which is definitely worth having as the credit crunch rolls on.

The Government is aiming to upgrade 125,000 household heating systems, which will cut carbon emissions, save money on fuel bills and help sustain the heating industry. The car scrappage scheme has helped pull the car industry through this tough economic period and it is hoped that this will help the maintenance sector.

If your boiler is "G-Rated" or of a lower standard, then you are entitled to £400 off the price of a new 'A-rated' boiler, or renewable heating system. For further information on this new incentive go to www.decc.gov.uk.
