We’re here to help
Accidents happen. That’s why you’re insured. If an incident occurs that could result in a claim, call us straightaway on 020 8308 4344 and we’ll advise you on your next steps.
It’s best to tell us about everything, including:
Whether or not you think you’re liable for the incident
If you find out that someone’s making a claim against you
If you’re not sure that you even want to make a claim. (Failing to report the incident straightaway could cause problems if you decide later that you do want to claim.)
Always be prepared
Hopefully you’ll never need to make a claim. But just in case you do, there are a few things that you can do to help the claims process run smoothly:
Keep receipts for everything that’s insured
Take photographs of valuable insured items
Store your policy documents somewhere safe.
If the worst happens
If an incident happens that could lead to a claim, it’s important that you follow these simple steps so that you don’t run into any problems later:
Contact us straightaway. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are here to help you.
If your property has been lost, stolen or vandalised, you should report the incident to the police. Some insurance policies require you to file a police report within a certain time period (e.g. 48 hours).
If you have an emergency, you should arrange reasonable temporary repairs as soon as possible, retaining any bills as these may form part of your claim. Remember to take photos of any damage caused.
Record all the facts of the incident: times and dates, people involved, exactly what happened, and what you’re claiming for. Memories can fade over time, so it’s best to make a note of everything while it’s still fresh in your mind.
